I realized I forgot to tag this as reluctant/nc?/blackmail, so just be aware that is also a quality of the story.
Danielle was nervous as she walked down the empty halls to Mr. James’s room. She didn’t know what she was doing, that’s what she was going to say. She was stressed, she didn’t have any time, she would never do it again. She rehearsed it in her head, even said it under her breath a couple of times as she approached his door. The door was open and she sheepishly entered. Her eyes were on the ground but when she felt Mr. James gazed at her, she couldn’t help but look up at him. Their eyes met and for a second they took each other in.
Mr. James was in his 30s, maybe 40s, and always wore a button up shirt and black slacks, held up by a belt, to school. He height was average, but anyone who’s seen him knows he can intimidate people much taller than him. He was also fit and coached the long distance running teams every year, but this wasn’t the main reason he was intimidating. He had sharp green eyes that were practiced in glaring, and his brow was stiff and strong. His stumble made him look like a tough character, but his shaggy black hair revealed his normal self. He was often kind and had a dry humor, but getting on his wrong side meant trouble. That’s why Danille was so scared.
