I had recently gotten out of a rather long relationship, and "dating" wasn't really part of my life. I had picked up online dating, because I didn't like going out much, and it seemed very intriguing to me. Not long into my online venture, I get a message. She started talking about how embarrassed she felt sending the first message and how attractive and interesting she thought I was.
I'm not usually the type of guy that gets compliments from random girls, and it filled me with confidence. This was all so new to me, and before I knew it, we were having long conversations about anything and everything – from Lord of the Rings to our sexual preferences.
After a couple of weeks getting to know each other, I gathered up enough courage to suggest we finally meet in person. She seemed very excited, and practically agreed while I was asking.
I barely slept that night. The excitement of my upcoming date was almost overbearing. She was absolutely gorgeous. The kind of girl that others might say is too attractive for me. I know I'm not the type of guy that makes women swoon when they lay eyes on me, so it was a nice change of pace.
