How To Make Love To A Queen (poetry)

Tear the gate off it’s castle

hinges, draw your sword,

chase her madly

into the garden

Pin her

wrists to

the sky

ankles to earth
Tear away

buttons

silk

lace

crown

Place her across your tongue

this ritual

(of fruit stolen from the vine)

Greedy

with every drop

Soaked

chin

collar

robe

thigh

sheets

Be savage

as fire

as Murder

as betrayal

Plunge your blade into her
throat

her belly

her womb

Rip her into pieces

with you bare hands

Break her

until she is whole

again

Exchange

bite

and blood and the

Carving of your names

into each other’s throats

across your backs

Wrap her

copper hair

around your right hand

your left

around her

sovereign neck

Curve her spine

like the earth

kiss her forehead

as her eyes close

in benediction

baying at a sky

full of envy
