I enter the bar through the front door and stand there for a moment as my eyes adjust and I can survey the room. I see a few people sitting at the bar, and then I see you. A beautiful woman sitting at the bar, but you look uncomfortable and disinterested with the person speaking to you. I start walking towards the open barstool on the other side of you.
As I approach I hear you tell the man again that you’re not interested. Seeing my window I pounce.
“Hey there honey, so sorry I’m late. Traffic was shit and I lost track of time at work” I say as I slide past you and into the open barstool. My hands brush your shoulders as I move.
“Ah, my mistake” says the other man, as he slinks off back to the other side of the bar.
“You’re welcome” I say to you as I turn and face the bartender.
“Oh no, honey, you don’t get off that easy for saving me.” You say to me as I order a drink.
“Really, so you’re interested in getting me off?” I say with a wry smile.
