***Knock knock***
Kate popped up from the sofa, adjusting her tee and shorts from lounging around in wait. She walked along the cool carpet of her apartment floor, barefoot towards her front door to answer it.
“Finally” she muttered.
Kate opened the door and frowned at Jack, who just stood there expectantly. Realizing that the awkward tension needed to be broken, she motioned for him to come in.
***Why was he standing there like that? What did he expect? Me to roll out the red carpet?***
“Hey, Kate.” Jack says as he followed her in, watching her walk on by to the sofa. He shut the door and locked it, seeing that she was in no mood to entertain a guest.
“Okay…that was rude” he remarked. “So, where is Jen, and what is this double date idea that you wanted to discuss with us?”
Kate turned around to look at him after sitting herself down on the sofa. “Jen isn’t here, Jack, and she isn’t coming. She’s at the spa for the day.”
