Strangers at the hotel bar [MF]

“What can I get you, sir?” asked the bartender.

“An old fashioned, please and thank you.” replied the patron.

Michael spent his day running a vaccination clinic for the department of health and now was unwinding for the night at the hotel bar. Cabin 82 was the name of the bar located inside The Graduate. A now famous hotel on the Square in Oxford, Mississippi. The name of the bar originated from the cabin the Manning family used during the annual Neshoba County Fair in Philadelphia, Mississippi. The Graduate was Michael’s favorite spot to stay when he visited Oxford for work or pleasure. The Square brought back many vivid memories of his time attending Ole Miss and Michael always jumped at the opportunity when work needed to send someone to the beautiful town.

“One old fashioned. May I get you anything else?” asked the young bartender

“Just a refill when this gets low, please.” laughed Michael.

“You got it.” The bartender looked to mid twenties. It was common to see graduate students work all over the town. Michael thought to himself that bartending would have made more money than interning at a pharmacy but, in the long run, he made the right decision to get as much experience as possible before graduating.
