I worked as a character in college. The type that are popular for disney films but for copyright reasons arent actually those characters. No I wasnt one of the street corner ones but the ones you call up to go to birthday parties to pretend to be them. It was easy since you rent the costume from the company and just show up to play along with kids. With my complexion, Pocohontas was the primary character I could play. Pretty easy putting my hair in a braid and listening to screaming kids run around for a couple hours making $200 on a saturday. But what was more fun was getting to see how these parents acted. Most were just using birthdays to excuse their day drinking. The moms sat around the kitchen drinking wine where the dads drank beer around the bbq outside. The only people actually watching these kids ended up being the few nannies and myself which wasnt my job.
