Life as a student is hard, ya know? The hours studying, the droning classes, the shitty part time job to pay the exorbitant tuition. Luckily I was at the end. Just a few more weeks of class, a few exams, and I was free, ready to be unleashed on the world. It might not sound spectacular to you, but I was burnt out at the time. Tired, bored with my daily routine, living alone, and generally absent minded.
So it was on that Wednesday afternoon, returning home from work; a co-op placement for school at a nearby marketing firm. Despite the exhaustion from a day in the office, I was keen to continue upholding my new year’s resolution to myself, so I headed down to the building’s gym for a quick bike ride. I wasn’t in bad shape at this point; the six months of intense cardio was toning me up nicely. Still, 45 minutes on the bike was enough for me, and I was keen to get some dinner in my belly.
