I [F25] met Jeff [M34] through reddit during a time that I was not seeking anything – not a relationship, not a hookup, nothing. I was simply posting for fun with no intention of talking to many people, let alone meeting them. Jeff was one of many who direct messaged me following a post that I put up. I don’t respond to most messages but I open each of them to see what they say. His stood out to me because it was respectful, mellow and mentioned me having a boyfriend (which I don’t) so I responded just to clarify that and to thank him because he complimented me as well and he seemed cool and nice. He answered, and turns out, he was in fact “cool and nice.” I chatted back and forth, not really intending for it to go anywhere beyond a conversation, but I enjoyed talking to him. He told me that I seemed like an interesting person beyond the photos and that he would like to get to know me better, and I thought, why not? I was truly enjoying talking, so I gave him my kik and we moved over to there. We chatted more, got to know each other, exchanged photos, and before I knew it I found myself looking forward to messages from him. There was sexual talk involved, but it was mostly just about our lives, our interests, things we have in common, joking around, etc. Like a good friend that I had a big crush on. He lives a few hours away from me and eventually suggested that we meet somewhere (closer to me, because he’s so generous) and that there would be absolutely no pressure to have sex or anything but that he’d love to have dinner and get to know me. He would also be staying at a hotel if I chose to stay with him, which I definitely wanted to, but I appreciated so much that he kept reminding me it was not expected at all. My #1 favorite thing about him is his kindness.
