*All of the people in this fantasy are 18+ years old.
It’s late and I am just leaving our small local grocery store. An hour before store closing seems to be the best time to get my shopping done. I have always been a night owl. I love the quiet stillness night brings. The break from constant chaos makes the world a little less suffocating.
I walk out of the store with a few bags filled with this week’s groceries. There are several cars parked in the poorly lit lot, but not a person in sight. Something feels off though. I quickly walk to my car as an unsettling feeling begins welling inside of me, making the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
I fumble through my purse trying to find my keys. I can feel my heart pounding in my chest. As I turn to look over my shoulder, a hand quickly moves to cover my mouth, muffling the scream I am too shocked to expel. My bags fall to the ground as I throw my elbow back, connecting with my attacker’s stomach, causing his grip to loosen slightly. Everything is happening way too quickly. I can feel myself being pulled backward. Kicking and screaming doesn’t even slow him down. He is simply too strong.
