Chapter 4:
The Saturday morning I woke up early to find Anika asleep next to me. The memories of night before flooded my mind, that split second where you think if it’s reality. Anika staying at my place was a genuine friendly gesture but what happened next almost felt natural. I still had apprehension of what comes next so I let Anika sleep and got myself out of the bed. I made a cup of coffee and sat by the window to read a book. I couldn’t concentrate much, with her sleeping there in front of me..
Anika woke up a good couple hours after me, still groggy but there was no hint of what had transpired. As she freshened up, she was her usual cheerful self and that put me to bit ease. Anika was going to video chat with her husband in the morning and I was not sure if I could be home then. I got out of the apartment for groceries and ended up taking a long walk. When I got back we only spoke briefly about her chat with Manish before changing the topic. The rest of the day was spend outdoors, a barbeque in park where Anika accompanied me and then birthday dinner in the evening.
