Sometimes you find yourself at a dead end. Things don’t always work out the way we expect and there come times when it’s best to pick up the pieces and go. This is the position I found myself in the weeks leading up to my chance encounter in the woods.
Everyone has their escape. The place you can go and feel like you’re doing exactly what you want to do. For me this has always been the woods and mountains. So when the world came crashing down for me it was the one place I wanted to run to. Fortunately I had the means and available free time to take a week for myself and try to figure some things out. So I packed my small trailer camper, hooked it to my pickup, and wasted no time leaving.
I wanted to get far enough away that I wouldn’t encounter anybody I know. So I decided on a park in Montana that I hadn’t seen before. My plan was to get up into the woods and explore for a secluded area to set up camp. I ended up getting there around 3pm and was tired from the drive. I looked around but didn’t find anything fitting my taste. So with that I decided to try the designated camping area for the night and resume my search the next day.
