# Meeting my favorite MMA Wrestler, Gone Sexual
Becoming an MMA wrestler wasn’t easy. I had to find the legends that were giving Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes. Put up some loans to pay for the extended training and coaching. Work all day, trained at night.
My body wasn’t a temple-it was a machine of flesh and bone. My old high school friends gaped at me, calling me the goat and a sigma male. Women stared at my body, then took a peek at my face. But none of those women were taking the spotlight from my ultimate crush, the Queen:
Amanda Lovato.
I knew her in a special way. She was the valkyrie of MMA. She is a practical woman in the interviews, but she was a lioness in the ring. She speaks for the rights and wrongs of the world and I always listened. For an athletic woman with the fiercest moves, she was practical.
Her advice about getting into MMA is how I paved my own path. She never gave up and reminded her fans not to give up either. “If they shove you, stand up and kick them.” is one of her quotes. It was on the poster on the back of my garage’s wall, where she had her hands raised high in the ring with her opponent still on the ground.
