I’m a lecturer at a college here in the west coast USA. This happened a couple weeks ago during the new semester.
I was teaching this 8 AM seminar with a class size of about 20 students. It’s one of those where you end up recognizing everyone in the class. There was this male student who I was attracted to immediately. Athletic, muscular, tall, basically just fucking hot. He’s like maybe 20 years old.
Obviously nothing happened for the first few classes. He had a habit of arriving to class late, so in the second week I had a chat with him about punctuality. I was surprised by how apologetic he was since he genuinely felt bad that he was being disruptive to the class by being late. He told me that he was having issues with his girlfriend, not sleeping much, so he had been struggling to wake up for 8 am class.
In response to what he told me, I just blurted out that he was welcome to visit me during office hours so I could give him extra support for the class. Well guess what? The next day he came to my office hours. We chatted for 20 minutes and actually got him caught up with some things. The next week of classes went without a hitch, he wasn’t late and was really engaged in class.
