This story happened 5 years ago. At the time, I was a 20 year old DJ, partying and DJing at all kinds of clubs and cafes around my country, the Netherlands.
A lot of people might think ‘well you are the DJ, you are the one who gets the one night stands, don’t you?’ – I can tell you, this is not the truth. Most of the time, we need to stay a bit longer, or are too far away from the public to ‘flirt’ or have contact with anyone in the public.
On this particular Saturday night, I was doing an ‘all-night’ set in a small club. Around 350 people could fit in there. This club is quite old, but the owners really invest in having a good atmosphere and vibe. Lucky for me, I was on the same level as the public. This means a bit more interaction, a better feeling with the people on the dance floor. The fact that it’s such a small club, makes it easier for me as a DJ to communicate and feel the vibe of the crowd.
