Trekking in Canadian Rockies [Mf]

The scenery was spectacular. The air was clean and felt crisp. The sun was shining brightly. The mountain peaks in these Canadian Rockies were snowcapped and simply breathtaking. It was July 1, and the whole country was celebrating Canada Day. And here we were on this hiking trip from Jasper Alberta, on the fifth day of the two-week long trip. It was mid

afternoon; we were sitting around in a circle, yakking away, laughing and

occasionally bursting into some song.

It was a group of ten, we all knew each other as acquaintances and some were close friends. All except one, were in our early 20s, either graduate students or recently graduated from university about to start new careers. There were three couples sharing a tent each, two sisters sharing a tent and two single guys (myself-m22 and Robbie-m23) sharing another tent. For the record both Robbie and I are very straight and sharing the tent was a matter of convenience. I have been single since the breakup of my last relationship six months ago.
