This is merely fiction.

We bumped into each other on the subway.

“Oh my gosh! What are your plans for tonight?” she asked me.

“Just pregaming at the bar on 8th before going to some party that guy in the red shirt is taking us to,” I say, pointing at my friend.

“Nice! We’re heading there too! Do you guys just want join us?” she says.

“Uhh… Sure! Why not?” I say, surprisingly.

We reach our stop, and we all get out of the subway. Me and my cousin introduce our friends each other, and we make our way to the bar. It’s relatively packed, but one of my cousin’s friend had a table reserved.

“Hey, what are you drinking?” my cousin asks.

“What? No. I can’t let my cousin buy me drinks. You’re letting me stay in your apartment till I find my own place. I should be the one buying you drinks!” I say.

“What? I can’t buy my ‘baby’ cousin a drink?” she teasingly asks.

“I guess an 8 year difference makes me a baby,” I sarcastically say.

The position needed to be filled in a week, and I was getting nervous. I never got a callback, or any response. Until now. I was waiting outside an office that was unoccupied. It was a big “campus” and staff were being relocated all over. It was definitely a strange place to get interviewed, but there I was. I was on time, but my interviewer was no where to be found.

“Are you here for the interview?”

I turned around, and to my surprise, it was a woman in her early 30s. She was dressed in a chrome skirt, and a white blouse. She had black, silky, shoulder length hair, curves all in the right places. You could tell she took care of herself.

“Uh… Yeah! I am.” I replied.

“Great! You must be Jay. Let’s go into the office.”
