You turn the key in the ignition and the engine and lights cut off simultaneously plunging you into pitch black eternal darkness as every source of light diminishes. You look over to your house to find not a single sign of life not a single light can be seen.
“Strange, Jessica should be home?” You question openly to yourself.
It’s a wintry night and a loud patter of rain could be heard hitting the windows and windscreen of the car, causing the droplets to dance down the glass. Your house is in the countryside with no houses around for miles and miles. You sit in silence for a moment, surveying the area looking around in bewilderment.
“I wonder where she is.” You again ask yourself while preparing for the mad dash between the car and your porch.
With a sudden outburst of energy, you swing the car door open and slam it shut behind you, rushing towards the house you pivot slightly and beep your car to lock it. Reaching the porch as you do so. You let out a sigh of relief that you had made it, which was short lived, as you discovered that your attempts to mitigate getting wet were futile.
