The fourth started off as a beautiful summer day which was perfect as my husband and I were going to have our college aged kids and their friends over to celebrate.
I spent most of the morning cleaning up and setting up for the party while my husband caught up on yard work etc. Our kids and their friends would be over later for food and drinks by the pool before we watched some fireworks.
My son Chad is a SR in college and my daughter Sophie a JR in college… both back at home for summer and because of the Covid situation. Chad and Sophie had asked their childhood friends Tyler and Sarah to come over and join us.
Tyler was a talented football player for a Div 1 school and Sarah had played soccer with Sophie growing up, but is now only focusing on school. They were at our house daily growing up so we were glad to have them over.
Once I had the house ready to go I decided to throw on a small bikini and go outside to lay out and get some sun. I had some time to kill before everyone came over and hubby was still working on the yard so why not.
An hour or so later I woke up to the dog barking and when I opened my eyes I saw my kids and there friends standing above me. ”Hi Mom” from my kids… and hellos from Tyler and Sarah as well.
They had their arms full of seltzers and light beers so I guess they planned on partying, not a surprise as they were all in college. I was a little embarrassed as I was in a tiny bikini in front of these kids so I got up and went inside as I heard some can tops pop.
