To start things off with the basics, I’m bisexual, and [legs](https://previews.123rf.com/images/ververidis/ververidis1512/ververidis151200626/49960540-young-couple-kissing-outdoor-male-and-female-legs.jpg) are basically my favorite body part on both men and women. The entire leg, really, though I like the [thighs](https://www.fitness19.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/photodune-3820002-female-thigh-xs-517×330.jpg) slightly more than the rest, since they’re slightly more fatty than the rest of the leg, and usually when thighs are exposed it means the [shorts](https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0077/0432/products/5-5-stretch-classic-shorts-the-khakinators-5-5-stretch-2_1024x1024.jpg?v=1560378300) (on either sex) or [skirt](https://dimg.dillards.com/is/image/DillardsZoom/nav2/intro-sheri-pull-on-a-line-skort/05693767_zi_ebony_black.jpg)/[dress](https://www.chicos.com/Product_Images/570263353_959_large.jpg?imgPolicy=productLarge) (on women) are above the knee, and above the knee is my favorite length for things.
But women…they already show off their legs enough as is, and have been for years. Plus, since the [70’s](https://2lth8w1uv77536l8d72pqh10-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/casual-shorts-tops-knit-crop-tank-350×370.jpg) women’s shorts haven’t exactly gotten that much [longer](https://d28m5bx785ox17.cloudfront.net/v1/img/RFwwjwPfSmxBiu5DlgVQX4l_RgkNgTaCMqaTrWCUUVQ=).
But men…their shorts were [as short](https://flashbak.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/mens-shorts-9.jpg) as women’s at first, but went into a really long and baggy [phase](https://i.ebayimg.com/thumbs/images/g/HO4AAOSwzOxcsNy1/s-l225.jpg) in the 90’s/early 2000’s. Below the knees, a few inches away from being pants.
However, more recently, shorts have been [getting shorter](https://www.jcrew.com/brand_creative/2018/0327/201903_0219_short_img0.jpg) for men again. Above the knee and approaching the thighs. Though it’s not super socially acceptable for a man to wear shorter shorts in all areas. While stupid, a lot of men still see it as “too revealing” or “gay.” There’s more or less still an unspoken stigma about men showing knees or thighs.
