This happened several years ago. Post ended up being longer than I thought.
While getting a post-grad certificate, I first met Laura, we’ll call her. Laura and I shared many classes in that certificate program, and would sometimes talk before classes. She was tall and blonde, Scandinavian, and beautiful, really (if she had a celebrity twin, it would be [Anastasia Griffith](https://dvdbash.files.wordpress.com/2013/10/damages-glenn-close-rose-byrne-donovan-booth-danson-griffith-nouri-noonan-ivanek-hurt-phillippe-goodman-hannah-dvdbash019.jpg?w=584&h=896)).
At the time, she struck me as a bit too cutesy for my taste, really. The kind of person that wore pumpkin or bat earrings around Halloween, and who had a lot of holiday themed jewelry and clothes. And, at the time, I was devoted to my girlfriend, who later became my wife and then my ex-wife. Anyways, after the program finished, we sort of lost touch for a bit.
A few years and a failed marriage later, we reconnected via social media. I was dating someone, but we we had just started seeing each other. I would post about my day at work, what I cooked for dinner or was eating, and Laura would comment about how it looked delicious, or how a cold beer helps a long day—stuff absentminded me thought was harmless.
