About 10 years ago, my wife and I decided to try tubing down the Guadalupe River down in south Texas. I had floated the Comal down there quite often as a kid and I thought we’d enjoy it since we are both fans of the outdoors and it looked like fun. To those not familiar with this Texas pastime, you just grab a tube and a cooler of beer and float down the river. Simple as that but a really good, relaxing time.
We tried to get a group of friends to go with us but it only ended up being me, my wife, and her cousin. We arrived at the campsite a little later than expected but we quickly set up our tent and headed down to the tube rental shack to see if we can get a quick float in before it got dark. Before we knew it, we were chilling in our tubes, drinking beers, and enjoying the ice cold waters of the Guadalupe.
