Just for context, this was 3 years ago, when I was a freshman in college. I was 19 at the time, and my sisters and her friends were all 18.

It was winter break, and I was traveling home from college to be with my family for the holidays. I knew when I got home it would also be the day my younger sister would be going to her (high school) senior dance. Our high school had multiple dances like prom, this one was just over winter break. This also meant that we would be hosting a pre-party for the dance, and some of her friends and their dates would be over. I was both excited and slightly annoyed about this. Excited that I’d get to see some of her friends, some of which I liked and others I was just attracted to. And annoyed at the fact that I wouldn’t have space to relax until they all left.
