We arrived at our new home away from home for the weekend. Nina and I had gone with her family to visit her step father’s dad for the weeknd and mostly to get out of our normal routine, the drab of the day to day and mundane of the city. The ocean is normally a welcome sight being so land locked but alas this was the gulf where no one makes plans to visit this part unless they had to. Padre or Mexico were better spots but I wasn’t going to complain about free room and board for the next couple of days. Try to make the best of a bad situation.
When we got there, we quickly settled dividing rooms with her step father, George, downstairs on a couch foldout. Her younger brother, his friend, and I in a room while Nina and her mom took the last room. The boys room was crowded with the two of them taking the floor and me opting for the bed. We unpacked, change into swim trunks and hit the beach with the rest of the family.
