I (19F) was a late bloomer when it came to driving. My Mom was trying to teach me how to drive, as I had just gotten my learners permit at 18. Mom and I just couldn’t get along, she made me nervous and she was always shouting instructions and it just didn’t work out. It usually wound up with us bitching each other out.
My Dad suggested signing me up for Drivers Training during that summer. He thought it best that a non-family member would make me more comfortable. So on a Saturday morning to my surprise when the instructor picked me up, it was my former track and field coach who was working as a driver instructor during the summer.
Coach Dan, recognized me right away and was very complimentary on my looks. He was a big tall guy, maybe 40 years old and all the girls on the team thought he was a “hunk”. After the first 2-3 lessons, I was really getting the hang of driving and was so much more relaxed with Coach Dan.
