It’s been awhile since I updated, sorry. Work and life happened. I mentioned the rules were getting loosened up, and indeed they were! Well, I did it. We didn’t really have much contact after the texting conversations, besides a few clarifying things and logistics. Saturday Cass said she couldn’t wait to have me over, Nick goaded me into telling him I was hard thinking about Cass. And then I was headed over to their place.

I texted Nick to let me into their building and he came down to the entrance and greeted me. We didn’t say much but as soon as the elevator doors closed we had this exchange:

So I get a text last week from a girl I used to work with a few years back. We were pretty close work friends, hung out a couple times outside of work, got drinks with the coworkers pretty often. But when she left for a different job we drifted pretty fast, you know how it goes. There wasn’t anything romantic or anything, she had a boyfriend the whole time I knew her (they got engaged just before she left), but we got along nicely.

I hadn’t talked to her in at least a year when she texted last weekend asking to catch up and do zoom coffee. This sounded nice to me, I did want to catch up.
