Over the weekend my wife Danielle and I decided to go to some of the college bars that typically the younger crowd go to at our old university to meet up with a friend of a friend who we have only met one other time in a bar for a few hours. Despite feeling like the oldest people there even though we are only 30 we were lucky to find our friend and he led us to a group of seniors who welcomed us into the game of darts they were playing after agreeing to buy them a round of shots if we lost.
I have never been good at darts so although my wife and I tried out best we lost and happily bought the 7 of them shots as a prize. They let us hang out with them as an extension of their friend as we got to know them and continued drinking while we shared stories about different party houses on campus and what had changed over the years since we both graduated.
