So when I was 20 I went to Romania for a month for an internship at a university (I’m Canadian). Although there was some American students studying there too, I didn’t really vibe with them so I took to tinder to find some locals to hang out with. I had also just recently broken up with my boyfriend and had been going through some rough emotional times so I was down to have some fun. Also let’s note that I had only been with ONE guy before this sexually, so I was pretty inexperienced.
I matched with this guy on tinder who quickly messaged me with a funny comment relating to my bio, and immediately we hit it off in conversation- he was smart and witty and was down with my sense of humour. I mentioned something about how many people smoke cigarettes in Romania and that I had never smoked before, and he told me to meet him at the botanical gardens in the city we were in to try one. He also said that that evening he was going back home to Bucharest (the capital of Romania, about 10 hours away by train) and I could come too. I thought this was a joke and didn’t think anything of it- who would seriously offer that, right?
