This was this past December. My wife was quitting her job in the finance department of decent size company because she had started a business last year that really exploded.
The company she worked at wasn’t awesome either. It had changed hands a couple of times and management had turned over with the ownership, and then they rapidly expanded from a small company to a large company. My wife was hired there right out of college (she graduated in 3 years with a double major I might add) and over the course of 8 years became the longest tenured employee at the company because they grew from 15 to 150 people over that time.
However, because of the management she was never totally happy with her pay and her title. She definitely got promotions and raises, but she should have been the person just under the CFO and instead they brought someone new in to be her boss, and that never sat right with her. Also, she was the only woman in the finance department.
