This all occurred a few years ago at my old job in healthcare. I was a recently single 30yo guy at the time living in a new state. Rose was a nurse, one year younger than me, and in a dead bedroom marriage. We shared a bunch of common interests and quickly became good friends. Flirty banter was common between us, but we did not take it too seriously. One day while walking out to our cars after work Rose saw me scrolling through Reddit.
“I am always on Reddit at home” she said with a smile. “Do you ever post anything?”
“Nothing that I can show you at work” I responded, accompanied by a wink. Her eyes widened as she did not attempt to hide her interest. “Maybe you will scroll by me tonight without realizing it” I said with a shrug. “Have a good night.” I got into my car and didn’t think much of the interaction.
Rose had already texted me before I made the short drive home. Throughout the evening she repeatedly probed for info on my Reddit username and post history. Eventually I caved and shared my info. After doing so I did not hear from Rose for the rest of the night. While checking Reddit quickly before going to bed I smiled upon noticing I had a new follower.
