A little context for starters. I (35/M) am an artist. Not my day job but a side gig that I take pretty seriously. I like classic subjects & styles, in particular, nude figure paintings. Most of my reference photos are sourced from Google images and instagram. But sometimes I’m looking for a specific pose, lighting setup, or piece of clothing that can be impossible to find.
A few months ago, my sister is home for a visit. She lives a few hours away and doesn’t make it back as often as she’d like. She texts me to meet her and her best friend Hailey for dinner and drinks. She and Hailey have been friends for close to 20 years so she’s almost like a little sister to me too. The night is uneventful enough. We tell old stories from when we were teenagers, catch up on what’s been going on in each other’s lives, etc. My sister brings up the subject of my art, asking me about some recent paintings that I posted on instagram.
