As I exited my morning lecture into the open air hallway on a morning at the end of April, I contemplated all of my options. My freshman year was coming to an end and I was filled with a sense of dread about what I was going to do for the summer break. I had to be out of my dorm room in a couple of weeks, which led me to the dilemma of whether I would have to pack my bags and spend three long months with my parents and little brother back in the rural town I had spent the first eighteen years of my life, or if I could manage to scrape by in an apartment with my meager savings and a lot of roommates.
