Surveillance State, Part 1

In the year 2039 on a quite snowy night, the Harper family prepared dinner in their luxurious Washington DC townhouse. Max, a young US Senator from New Jersey sat reading a tablet on the days political news. His wife Megan stood at the kitchen counter mixing a salad, humming a song. Their daughter Emmi sat doing her homework, taking notes with an old school pencil and paper. Lastly, their Android stood before the stove, preparing three steaks.

They named their android Renny, who was a top of the line all purpose Android made by an American company Boston Next Gen. The expensive android sold expensive Apps that would unlock new abilities but since they recently purchased it, they only had three of the most popular Apps installed. Cooking, laundry and cleaning. Renny looked a little like famed science fiction robot R2D2 with it’s domed head but not even the imagination of Star Wars could dream up all of Renny’s abilities. With two outstretched arms, Renny cooked the steaks to perfection and served the meal. As the family ate, the laundry app kicked in and it went down stairs. After the family ate dinner it went back up stairs and perfectly cleaned everything up.
