My heart raced and my palms became sweaty as I made my way down the hall towards our bedroom. Normally a brisk mundane walk that occurred dozens of times on any given day, suddenly felt eternal.
I stood at the threshold of our bedroom, swallowed hard and opened the door.
There she was, just as I had asked of her; kneeling, on the bed, waiting for me with her hands on her lap. This was the moment when I knew, this was the night she would fully surrender herself to me and I would take us on the journey of a lifetime.
I studied her from top to bottom ensuring my demands of her had been met; hair down in a lose curl, check; natural make up, check; silver jewelry, check! She had fulfilled my every request of her from perfectly manicured nails, to the delicious aroma of my favorite perfume. This was it, she was mine and she was showing me just how much mine she was.
