I recently helped my friend move his grandfather into a retirement home. After we finished, we were enjoying some beers and his grandfather shared some pretty great stories. Now I have no idea how true these are so take them with a grain of salt. He has alway been a master storyteller so I hope to do him justice. He’s also always been a dirty old man but he’s finally reached the age where it seems funny and harmless instead of just creepy.
There was a story on the front page of the newspaper about a male teacher getting fired for having sex with his female student. This started Gramps (I’m not going to give out his real name for obvious reasons) on a long monologue about how things have changed. He is 75 years old. He was a teacher and a principal before he retired. He started work as a teacher in the 1960s.
When he started teaching, he talked about how it was an open secret that most of the single male teachers would sleep with students. Apparently they didn’t even try to hide it within the male members of the faculty. He talked about how he and another teacher and his principal went fishing and talked about which girls would put out and who they thought was hot.
