This story happened to me many years ago (~2010) when I was still a lifeguard at the beach in my home town. One day while I was wrapping up for the day and just about to go, a young tourist couple walked up to me and started making small talk. At first I was trying to get out of the conversation. It just wasn’t a good time for me. I wanted to head quickly home after a long day. However after a few minutes, this charismatic couple somehow had me drawn-in and chatting away with them. It turned out they were on a weekend trip from the city, to celebrate their 7-year anniversary. They seemed to be in their mid twenties like me, so had probably met in high-school and stayed together since then. They were staying at the best 5-star hotel in the area. Having never been there myself, I was curious to know more about this place, and they were eager to tell me all about it.
