After her first week in the office, Todd mustered up enough courage to put in the effort to say hello, as they often didn’t cross paths in the hallway, and Todd ate his lunch in his office most days to give him more time to finish paperwork.
“Hey there, Charlotte. My name is Todd, and I’m your neighbor. I just wanted to say welcome to the office, and I look forward to working with you.”
“Hi Todd, thanks for the welcome. I’m just on my way to lunch, and you’re free to join me if you’d like,” Charlotte replied.
“It’s okay. I eat lunch in my office, but I’ll see you around.”
“Okay, sounds good,” she said.
Todd walked away, annoyed at himself for turning down such a great opportunity. She clearly wanted to talk to him more, and he had just ruined his chance.
Or so he thought.
Just as Todd was opening up his lunch, he received a knock on the door. It was Charlotte.
She walked into the office with her lunch, asking Todd if she could join him. He was in disbelief, but said yes.
