This is about a very smart girl I dated. She was a very powerful attorney who had son. There is some build up here, then after the XXXXX rows, the stuff you came for. Smart girls are always the best.
It was 2004 and I was recently divorced. I took my kids to a free outdoor concert on a custody weekend. They started playing with another kid while I watched the 80’s alternative bands I had come to see. I noticed a tall slender woman with reddish brown hair and a great pair of jeans on nearby. I was watching her move and wondering what her work out was all about. She was in great shape and had a hipness about her. Very down to earth in an exceedingly pretty sort of way. After a little while she totally caught me checking her out like she was a piece of meat! She just smiled and turned to face the band. After the set, I went to gather my kids and they wanted to hang with their new friend a bit longer. After a few minutes the kids mother showed up. You guessed it. It was the woman I had been watching. She was laughing and looking right into my eyes. We made nervous small talk and I gave her my business card and told her “If she ever wanted a playdate” to call me. That evening while my kids were back at their mom’s… She called. We talked for a long time. At first about music, and our city, her move from NYC after 9/11, then it got better. She brought up the subject of her recent divorce. We talked about the whole shared custody lifestyle, and how hard it was for everyone. Then she told me her son was with his father Tuesday nights, and asked me when we could go on that playdate. I laughed, she laughed, Tuesday was good for both of us.
