I can’t believe I lost my wallet and hadn’t even noticed! I was hungover, tired, and now annoyed with myself that I was going to have to go back to the frat house to try and find it.
I had left super early to get home and get ready for work at 9am. It was now 6am, I’d already finished eating at this tiny hole in the wall diner, and now I didn’t have my wallet.
“Listen, I’m so sorry, but if you let me go back and find my wallet now, I promise I’ll come right back and pay you!” I said to my server.
He had slicked back black hair, was slender built, and had a crooked smile on his face.
“I’m afraid if you leave here without paying I’m going to have to call the cops,” he said to me.
“You can’t be serious, over a $12 breakfast!” I exclaimed.
“That’s the way the world works hunny, I’ll tell you what though, I’ll give you the option to wash dishes here for an hour and we’ll call it even,” he said.
