# The year is 2085.
Fifteen years ago, a highly virulent, so-called “White Plague” struck humankind: all females perished. Wives were gone, as were daughters, sisters, and, most importantly, mothers. Our species was reduced to man and man alone, and knew that it would die out. That’s when the Ganymede Project was initiated.
A worldwide initiative, Ganymede, started experimenting on men, aggressively altering their genetic code, in a desperate race towards salvation from extinction. Human ingenuity truly knows no boundaries: in less than ten years, scientists emerged from their labs with a new kind of man, what was to be called from then on a “Carrier”. Men gifted with fertile, receptive, functional vaginas and wombs.
In the aftermath of this worldwide disaster, conservatives rose to power, and now a despotic government controls our Country, and many others. It recently instituted an innovative National Eugenic Program meant to improve its citizens. First of all, every single person’s genetic makeup has been systematically mapped and registered into a public database, then the most desirable pairings are asked to marry and beget offspring. Love is an afterthought: more often than not, the awkward betrothed don’t know each other at all and are only meant to be together for primal breeding purposes.
