Yes, it was Valentine’s Day. And of course I had expectations of how the night was going to go. But, I also understood that my husband had had a long day, traveling the state and working outside, and that he would have to do it again tomorrow. So I understood when he said, “Not tonight, I’m too tired.” I stood on my toes and wrapped my arms around his neck to give him a deep kiss. “Alright,” I said, now giving him nibbling kisses, “but you owe me.”

After a bit of a holiday, it was, unfortunately, time to get back to work. I had lost all sense of time and gotten a little too used to daily naps. Needless to say, the first day back at work was mentally exhausting. It’s as if I had forgotten to do anything. By the end of the day, I wanted nothing more than to get home, get out of these skinny jeans, and squeeze in a nap before my husband came home.
It was unusual hot that day, and by the time I had finished my long commute and gotten into the garage, I had shed my flannel shirt and was down to the black tank top. I had noticed that the tank top was losing its shape and kept slipping down during the day, revealing the top edges of the lace bra I wore. Thankfully it was black too, so it at least blended in somewhat.
I had barely made it through the door, and taken off my combat boots. I couldn’t be bothered with changing into actual comfy clothes, let alone make it to the bed. I made it to the carpeted living room where I laid down, face first, pulled the throw off the council and onto myself before I passed the fuck out.
