Dave left the movies with Kelly. Their first date and so far it had been ok. Nothing overly enthralling but he was just happy to be with her. It had taken him nearly two months to work up the nerve to ask her out, if he were honest with himself, he wouldn’t have thought she’d say yes. But jelly, even though she was more popular, wasn’t as shallow as most expected. She liked to explore new things and experiences, meet new people and discover herself.

Dave was timid and sometimes was fine not knowing himself.

With it being a Friday, these two high school kids were free to do as they pleased until midnight when Kelly’s dad had said to have her home. So with the movie over they walked down the streets of the outdoor mall and looked at the lights. It was romantic, the fountains danced, the lights glistened, soft music played. Dave thought she was having a good time so he decided to be daring. With his ever shaking hand he reached for hers and intertwined his fingers with hers. She squeezed his hand and looked at him shyly, but with a wild excitement.
