I don’t use social media much. At 28-years-old, I find myself becoming a grumpy old man rather quickly. I think the internet is equal parts great and terrible. I have an [redacted] account I can barely bring myself to look at. So many people only post photos with filters now. Even videos with filters now!
I DON’T KNOW WHAT ANYONE LOOKS LIKE ANYMORE!
And I get it, it’s the environment the media and social media influencers have created, but it still makes me sad. I watched this one video not too long ago of some girl having a breakdown because she truly believes she looks more like herself in a filter than a mirror.
I’m rambling. Or ranting. Or both…I don’t know. You didn’t click on the title to read my thoughts on the world.
On my barely used [redacted] account, I have a few people I genuinely enjoy following, one of those being a 52-year-old mother of four. I’m not even sure how we started following each other. We live in the same town, but I had never met her. We didn’t have many mutual friends. I don’t know. Life’s miracles, huh?
