He had been bussing around me all day long. He had never been gone out of sight for more than fifteen minutes. Whenever we were in the same room – copier room, staff room, outdoors for a quick smoke, entry hall – our eyes met, no matter how many feet apart we were standing. His eyes were shiny, and he had a soft, youthful smile on his lips. I couldn’t figure out where his sudden interest in me came from. And I honestly didn’t care. His gaze fixed at me flattered me. I enjoyed being watched by him.
I knew that I had to work late that day. People were slowing leaving the office, going home to family, friends and something to eat and I found myself wondering if he had gone too. Lost in thoughts I was standing at the copy machine, waiting for the pile of sheets growing bigger and bigger, when I suddenly realized that I was not alone anymore. I felt his presence through a slight tingling in my belly. I didn’t turn around and I felt him move closer until I could feel his soft breath behind me. He was close, very close and I didn’t dare to move because I didn’t want him to shy away. I felt a soft kiss on the side of my neck. He planted it there knowing that the next few seconds would define what was going to happen. It felt so good, so invigorating having him so close behind me. His body moved even closer so that our bodies touched. He kissed me again and his tousled hair touched my cheek.
