You know what’s really cool? Figuring out you’re not too old to learn some new tricks.
I first met my lover at a local coffee shop – one of those pretentious places where all the men have beards and a grouchy face, the women have all put a lot of effort into a messy ponytail, and they’d never play Nickelback. My lover does have a most lovely beard, but also a sparkling smile. It was a chilly but beautiful winter day, the sun shining through the windows. The conversation began innocently enough – exchange of pleasantries, finding superficial things in common, mild flirting. We developed a quick rapport, and were soon leaning in to each other. We were sitting on stools at the counter, and it was crowded and busy in the shop, so it was easy to bump knees and scoot closer. His warm breath on my neck as he got close to my ear in order to be heard over the din of our fellow beverage consumers smelled of the tea he drank and… something else delicious and intriguing.
