Long time lurker but I actually had something happen that I wanted to tell … actually I wanted to tell someone and thought better of telling my wife!
At lunch today, I went to a local coffee shop I frequent. The barista was a young woman I hadn’t seen for a long time. I comment that I haven’t seen her working in awhile and she tells me that she is in a nursing program in college now across the state and the owner lets the veteran employees come back and get double pay when they are on breaks. She and I talk about the university and town that she is going to because I went there 14 years ago. She and I hit it off and don’t skip a beat even though we hadn’t talked in 8 months.
