In October, I go to visit the boys at their college. M has been my friend for a decade and a half now so he owes me a dance. His roommate W is a friend of mine and we tease each other on occasion due to the lack of fifteen years of friendship. Their best friend is a girl, V, who likes M. We’re all a good gang, and they owe me a dance.
We go to the school’s fall dance in fine fashion, the boys in their dress uniforms, V and I sitting on their laps in our fancy gowns, all holding hands and teasing words.
The tension grows with our physical contact, especially because I haven’t seen M in person in years. He’s prettier now, stronger, more confident and self assured. He looks really good in uniform.
After the dance ends, we tramp back across campus to the boys’ room. We have big plans to get drunk, so once we get back to the room, W and V take a lap to get our vices.
