I’d really like to share a great, kind of surreal experience I recently had while partying. For starters, I’m a mid-twenties student in Berlin. I would describe myself as tall, thin and a bit awkward around girls, although I have quite some experience. The nightlife in the city is insane. You have so many venues to choose from which all have their own flair and crowd. The unifying theme of all of them is their devotion to techno and to offer their guests an escape from reality for a few hours or the whole weekend if that’s what you want. For example, taking photos inside is strictly forbidden and you have to put stickers on your phone cameras. This helps create an inclusive atmosphere in which people can really be themselves, dress up and not worry about any kind of societal norms, judgement or disapproving looks.
