I had never considered dating interracialy. I had grown up a second generation immigrant in the states, and was surrounded by people who looked different to me. I suppose it was more of an unwritten rule in the family.
So, it came to no suprise that when I was old enough to have a boyfriend he was a nice, boring Japanese guy. We didn’t even kiss for years. When we finally had sex, a couple months after I turned 18, it was vanilla, boring and he was terrible at it. Even now almost a year later approaching my 19th birthday he’s unable to please… Not that that matters! I do love him, right? And he’ll land a stable job, and we’ll probably get married and have a nice, boring life together.
