This is a story about a 7-day period in Cusco, Peru. It is quite a long story so i have broken it up into multiple parts which I will upload as I get the chance.

For as long as I [F] can remember, my best friend (lets call her Emma) and I dreamed of travelling around the world together when we graduated university and before starting in our careers.
So when we graduated, we travelled up the East Coast of Australia in an old rickety van (we called him Harry the Hiace) that smelt like feet, cigarettes and pot, went skiing in New Zealand, and spent 4 months travelling around South America.
However this story is to do with a specific event that happened when I was in Cusco, Peru. Anybody who has been there can comment on the town. It is essentially a basecamp for young backpackers to do the Inka Trail (or other multi day hikes) to Machu Picchu, who after which want to celebrate the hiking by drinking themselves half to death in hostel bars and nightclubs.
